INSECURITY: 20 Nations Issue Travel Warnings Against Nigeria

According to a report on Theguardianmobile.com, Nigeria's failing security situation is causing a global sense of frustration and there is fear of possible isolation, judging from western nations’ responses to the increasing wave of terror attacks in the country.

Following significant negative media attention on an international scale, about 20 countries have advised their citizens to stay away from Nigeria, mostly due to last week’s terror attacks. And they include:
  • the US, Canada, Australia,  have already issued several warnings to its citizens about Nigeria, United Kingdom, several other western nations like France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.
Even at the United Nations, where Nigeria is currently holding the gavel as this month’s President of the Security Council, there is a sense of frustration, as four major official statements criticised the state of

Boko Haram extremist sect leader Abubakar Shekau has described Monday's bomb attack in Abuja - which he claims responsibility for - as a 'tiny incident' which would soon be followed by more attacks.
The group released its new video to journalists in northeast Nigeria Saturday, hours after the AFP news agency published highlights of the clip.
In the video, Shekau admitted responsibility for the Nyanya bombing which officials say claimed more than 75 lives and injured over a hundred.
Witnesses and reporters, however, put the casualty figure far higher.
Shekau, who appeared in the video, as usual, clad in a military attire, with a long dark cap strapped with a dark turban, with an AK-47 rifle across his chest, spoke boastfully about the prowess of his group and how vulnerable the Nigerian nation is to him and his men.
He described the Nyanya blast as "tiny incident", which according to him does not merit the global

I’ve spent $170,000 on 149 cosmetic procedures—which is different than surgeries. I’ve probably had 19 actual full-on surgeries; even in those 19 surgeries I’ve had some combos where there have been several areas worked on.My view of myself is very realistic. I think I’m blessed to have the body I have, and [plastic surgery] has just become something that’s fun and cool.
My husband he doesn’t have any qualms with it. It was something we talked about even before we got married, because I was like, ‘We’re not going to get married if you’re going to give me shit about my surgeries!’ He was like, ‘Oh, I know that’s part of you, it’s totally fine.’ Actually, he tells me that my plastic surgery turns him on. Mila Kunis finally shows off baby bump (PHOTOS)

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher's love story kinda tell me one thing; what is meant to be will be. They both featured in the 90's sitcom 'That 70's Show'. They didn't date back then, didn't particularly like each other, didn't even keep in touch over the years. She dated a few people including Macaulay Culkin who she dated for seven years. He dated several people and was with Demi Moore for a total of eight years and married for six. Somehow after over twelve years, they found each other again and are engaged and expecting their first child. Awwww, I love a good love story. Congrats to them!

BOKO HARAM: Presidency, Governor Nyako Engage In War Of Words Over Genocide Claim

The Presidency described a memo written by Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State to the Northern Governors' Forum as a sad betrayal of trust by a major beneficiary of Nigerian nation.
The memo highlighted Governor Nyako's fears that the Presidency may intentionally not be doing enough to solve the many problems of insecurity in the North. Reacting to the claims, the Presidency said the Governor's positions smacks of "an unmitigated leadership disaster."
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, said the content of the governor's letter betrays his lack of a sense of history. According to Okupe, the memo portrayed the governor as incapable of rising above parochial sentiments as a result of his deep rooted disdain for facts and truth in public discourse.
The SSA, who said the memo is extremely divisive, added that it was intentionally meant to incite one section of the country against the other.
"Governor Nyako claims that President Goodluck Jonathan is from the Eastern region which according to him was responsible for the killing of Northern political elites on the 15th of January 1966. This is a very disgraceful remark by the governor and a pathetic embarrassment to the Nigerian Military from where Nyako derives his career antecedents. It is certainly a

More drama surrounding Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s Vogue cover feature.
If you ask us, Vogue editor Anna Wintour may be regretting her decision of featuring the reality TV star and rapper.
According to the New York Post‘s Page Six, the fashion publication is being sued by a boy-band crooner from the 70s, Rickey Spicer of The Ponderosa Twins Plus One.
Have you heard of him? Neither have we, and we love oldies.
He took legal actions against Kanye last year, accusing him of using one of his songs for “Bound 2” track on the “Yeezus” album.
A rep for Spicer says Vogue “knowingly used the voice audio recording of Mr. Spicer without his authorization or consent.”
He wants undisclosed compensation.
Oh well…at least it was cute video.

Rapper William Orioha, popularly known as 2shotz, and his wife Precious give an insight into the thrills of their 12-month-old marriage. They spoke with Punch about their love life and how it all started:

How long have you been married?
2shotz: We have been married for a year. We got married April 12, 2013.

How did you meet?
2shotz: I went to see her at a restaurant in Ajao Estate, Lagos. We had been talking on phone for a while before then. We ate, I went to drop her at home. Her family and friends knew who I was. Apparently, she did not know me until they started to hail me. Later, we went to a bar, had drinks there and we just clicked. It was not planned neither did I have it in mind that this was what I wanted to do. At that time, I was not trying to be in a relationship.

Precious: I met him on Twitter. I can’t remember who followed who first, but I remember he put up a picture of his apartment and I commented without knowing who he was. He thanked me and we got talking.

Residents Of Bayelsa State Raise Alarm Over Suspicious Bags, Police Say No Bomb

Bayelsa State - Two abandoned bags evoked suspicion from members of the public in Yenagoa, along the Yenezue-Egene area of the state capital, for possibly being laden with explosives.
A middle-aged man, believed to be of Hausa ethnicity, was seen with two bags and accosted by some passers-by who demanded to know what he was carrying.
The man reportedly abandoned the bags and fled, raising suspicion in the minds of people that the bags might be laden with explosives.
A witness, Tari Bokumo, said that instead of surrendering the bags to the security operatives, the man abandoned them and ran away.
"His action led to panic along the road, as people fled the area and there was confusion. But shortly after that men of the anti-bomb squad of the Nigeria Police arrived the scene," he said.
The Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, Hilary Okpara asked residents to be calm as there was no bomb.

EPL: Chelsea Premier league Title Hopes Fades away as Sunderland humbles them 2 - 1 at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea's Premier League ambitions hang on a knife-edge after home defeat to bottom club Sunderland.
And it was Liverpool loanee Fabio Borini that gave the away side the win - a win that may well have sent the title back to Anfield, especially after Sunderland also got a valuable point away to Man City in midweek.
The beaten League Cup finalists will start believing they can stay up now and their bid could well be helped by Liverpool who face relegation-threatened Norwich in the early kick off on Sunday.
After the game, a bitter Jose Mourinho aimed his frustrations at referee Mike Dean who awarded the 79th-minute penalty from which Borini scored.
He sarcastically congratulated the referee after seeing his 77-match unbeaten home record ended.
Chelsea are two points behind Liverpool having played a game more and the pair face each other in what's billed as a title decider next weekend, although if Liverpool beat Norwich they will head into the game 5 points ahead of their rivals.
Man City are third, six points behind the leaders having played a game less. They face West Brom on

BRAZIL WORLD CUP 2014: Osaze, Agbim in, Ikechukwu Uche out

•Six home lads get call up
If nothing changes after Tuesday’s NFF technical committee meeting with Keshi, then England based Osaze Odemwingie would be making a return to the Super Eagles for the Brazil 2014 World Cup, just as six home lads get into the 35- man provisional list to be sent to world soccer governing body, FIFA.
Sunday Sunsports exclusively gathered that Keshi has handed the Eagles World Cup list to team scribe Dayo Enebi Achor who would in turn make it available to the technical committee ahead of the crucial Tuesday meeting where it would be discussed and ratified before being sent to FIFA.
According to our source 29 foreign based and six homers got Keshi’s nod. Topping the list of the foreign pros is Osaze Odemwingie, who is making a return to the team, while Chigozie Agbim is leading the homers.
The six home lads on the list are Chigozie Agbim (Gombe United) Dan Akpeyi (Warri Wolves), Ejike Uzoenyi (Rangers), Azubuike Egwueke (Warri Wolves), Kunle Odunlami (Sunshine) and Abdullahi Shehu (Kano Pillars). It would be noted that all the six players were part of the bronze winning CHAN 2014

Governor Akpabio Urges Jonathan To Sack Governors Nyako, Geidam, Shettima of Adamawa, Yobe and Borno States

photo - Akpabio Urges Jonathan To Sack Governors Nyako, Geidam, Shettima

Here's how Sahara Reporters is reporting it:

Akwa Ibom Governor Godswill Akpabio urged President Goodluck Jonathan to sack three governors in Nigeria's northeast region, which is plagued by terrorist attacks by the Boko Haram militant group.

Mr. Akpabio made the suggestion at a meeting on Thursday between the President, governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a few other governors deemed friendly to Mr. Jonathan.
President Jonathan had initially invited all governors, including those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the meeting to discuss new strategies for tackling the worsening crisis of attacks by Boko Haram.
However, those close to the President, led by Governor Akpabio, prevailed on the President to exclude APC governors and meet only with the PDP and a few other 'loyal' governors. Governor of Akwa Ibom was instrumental in making the president to rescind the invitation to the APC governors.
Mr. Akpabio, who is also the chairman of the PDP Governors' Forum, urged the President to sack the three governors in the northeast whose states are most affected by the terror attacks and to declare a total state of emergency in the three states.
The governors Mr. Akpabio wants sacked are Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State, Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe State, and Kashim Shettima of Borno State. Mr. Akpabio told Mr. Jonathan that it would also be

Easter delight: Actress, Halima Abubakar glitters in gold & black number (PHOTOS)

Halima gold

Yesterday it was a white short dress which showed her banging body but the screen diva, Halima Abubakar has changed into something more comfy in a golden top and flowing trousers.
She couldn’t help but give her Instagram fans another glimpse of her not so pert derriere keeping it real as she’s wont to do.
She posted another picture (below) with a friend who also spotted the black and gold theme – who rocked it better, Halima or her equally bodacious friend?

How Boko Haram will give Jonathan a second term in office - Tunde Fagbenle

JONA-11

In this regard also, all the talk of All Progressives Congress or whatever suggesting that they have the magic wand for pocketing Boko Haram when, and if, APC gets into power is not only mischievous but insanely so, unless, indeed, remote puppeteers of the terrorists reside within the party.

There are no words to describe or denounce sufficiently the gravity of the latest run of Boko Haram madness on the land. The country woke up on April 15 to numbing media reports of the calamity of the day before (Monday, 14th): bomb explosions at the busy Nyanya motor park in the Federal Capital Territory, resulting in one of the largest casualties in the history of Boko Haram reign of terror, with figures of the dead – ranging from 80 to 100 and the injured in several hundreds.
Nyanya, to be sure, is an Abuja suburb in the neck of woods of Aso Rock where the President lives. Weeks earlier, if we may recall, the dreaded terrorist sect boldly attacked the citadel of state security (SSS) within the vicinity of the Villa in an attempt to free some of their members held in detention. I hope the import is clear: Mr. President, “knock, knock…”
Barely 24 hours earlier (Sunday, 13th) to the Nyanya blast I was in Abuja. It could have been me; it could

Suspected rapist DPO weeps in cell, blames the devil

The divisional police officer of Onikan police station, in Lagos, Mr Adekunle Awe who was accused of raping a woman in his office wept in the cell, on Good Friday.
The woman Idowu Akinwumi, 31, accused Awe of raping and threatening her, before allegedly extorting N30,000 from her and five other suspects, on April 15.
The victim who was said to be a cook in an eatery was arrested and taken to the police station after her boss reported that she brought in a strange man to sleep over in the restaurant. She and five other people were arrested.
A source at the state police command headquarters, Ikeja, where Awe was being detained disclosed that he was shedding tears in the cell and blaming his predicament on the devil.
He said the DPO was heard lamenting that the devil brought those suspects to put him in trouble. He prayed that God should intervene in his case and protect his job. He was detained alongside two police inspectors.

Saatah Nubari: Governor Murtala Nyako and the sound of war drums

nyako_543058417-600x450

Saying that Murtala Nyako has sounded the war drums is an understatement. It will be good to note that the last time the nation’s polity was this heated, AK 47 rifles later went off, Ogbunigwe was made and millions of people died. I find it disheartening that we have decided to play politics to this level, and that most APC supporters have toned down the issue of his memo, is quite disturbing.

I had no intention of putting down an article today. As a matter of truth, I had just come back from a night vigil, and I had planned to keep my body and soul hibernated and in sleep mode for a good portion of the day.
The war drums have been sounded. Before I go any further, let me state categorically that I have only decided to put down my thoughts for you because, there are signs, signs that we have either failed to take note of, or signs that we have failed to take as important. The war drums have been sounded, and this time around, it is not from Asari Dokubo or Junaid. It is from a sitting state governor, a person that is supposedly supposed to be a role model and leader of his flock. I advise everyone, irrespective of party affiliation, tribe or religion to spare a minute or two and go through Murtala Nyako’s purported memo to the Northern Governors Forum on the 16th of April.
Researchers of the events of 1967 will be quick to tell you that utterances like these were what set the stage
